A hand carved scoop in oak. I have been experimenting with some more organic shapes based on using natural shapes as templates - in this case tracing a pebble for the bowl of the scoop. Finished with danish oil.

Holds a measure of two tablespoons.
Approx 16.5cm long and 7cm wide.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLEAN IN DISHWASHER. Wood expands and contracts with the seasons, with temperature, and with humidity. Never place this item in a washing machine. Always wash by hand, and do not leave soaking in the sink, or lying in pooled water on the draining board to dry. I would also recommend occasionally treating the wood with beeswax balm, mineral oil, or another finish of your choice to keep the wood waterproof and moisturised. Just whenever it starts to look dry. This also keeps items looking lovely and rich in colour.
